Built on Efficiency

At Burger King, efficiency drives the workflow. Each part of the process is tracked, from the food-making stations to the customer pick-up areas, through the drive-thru, and into the back-of-house.

By reducing the time of individual tasks overall efficiency is improved. Even greater gains are achieved by eliminating redundant steps.

Spotting Inefficiencies

In the past, the restaurant kept three trash containers out back. Staff tossed everything in assorted, and once the bins overflowed, a trash company came to empty them.

Given the restaurant’s strong focus on efficiency, it quickly became clear that the entire trash process needed rethinking. Collaborating with Mil-tek, the best solution identified was to install a Mil-tek A305 baler inside the storeroom to manage the high volume of cardboard.

Improvements for Streamlined Management

Once a Mil-tek cardboard baler was installed, the difference was clear right away. Staff no longer had to drag trash outside, which meant the storeroom door could stay shut – keeping the space cleaner and at a steady temperature.

Staff deposited recyclables directly into the baler, removing the time-consuming task of flat-packing or stockpiling boxes. This change produced a neater storeroom, where trash was generated immediately instead of being managed twice.
