  • Qualified operator – Make sure the person using the machine is trained, or that a trained employee is supervising.
  • Loading – Place cardboard inside the baler chamber until it reaches capacity.
  • Closing and starting – Shut the chamber door securely and engage the starting handle.
  • Compression – The ram pushes downward, compressing the cardboard.
  • Safe operation – EN16500-certified balers are designed to exclude access to moving parts while in operation.
  • Repeat pressing – Continue the cycle until the cardboard has been compressed into a dense bale and the machine signals it’s ready to for emptying.
  • Securing the bale – Use suitable strapping or banding to tie off the bale.
  • Bale removal – Empty the chamber using either a manual release or an automated bale eject system
  • Storage and recycling – Stack the finished bales until a recycler collects them.

Pneumatic cardboard balers are generally more compact, making them ideal for businesses that handle smaller loads or require on-demand, production-floor solutions.

Smaller pneumatic balers are designed with a minimal footprint and can compress up to about 264 lbs of cardboard, which is perfect for shops, offices, and facilities with limited space. For larger operations such as warehouses or distribution centers, greater balers can handle loads of up to about 661 lbs, ensuring efficient trash management at scale.
